About Light and Dark

Light and Dark was originally created to provide an outlet for all the ideas and things that happened in my life. Once the monster that is Light and Dark was created, it just took over. I had intended the Light and Dark project to be something quirky thing that would add an interesting dimension to whatever I did, but now just about everything is a Light and Dark exercise.

Light and Dark has taken many forms over the years, but the one thing which has remained as a backbone is Roleplaying and Tabletop Gaming. To this end, Light and Dark is a collection of my musings, ideas, and general chat about these, and related subjects.

And who I am? I am Julian Whitehead

About Me

I have been gaming since about the age of 16. I first got into gaming through playing AD&D (2nd Edition), MERP (Middle Earth Role Playing), Warhammer Fantasy Battle (1st Edition) and Warhammer 40000 (Rogue Trader). Since those early days I have played a variety of tabletop wargames, boardgames, and roleplaying games. I have played games in the fantasy, sci-fi, historical, modern and pulp settings, and I enjoy reading most fantasy, science fiction and thriller novels.

One of my greatest hobbies is crafting. I love to craft things, whether this be some wargame scenery, a specific piece for a boardgame, or a new tileset or encounter piece for roleplaying, I enjoy putting it all together and playing with it on the table.
